A hummingbird is hand cut into a steel plate that the copper penny is then pressed into in order to create these classic pendants.
Each piece is handcrafted from salvaged pre-1982 pennies and scrap copper. The disc background is heat patinaed by hand. Heat coloring copper is a variable process, determined solely by the temperature of the metal. The copper will reveal oranges, pinks, yellows, and blues. Kate coordinates the background to the tones of each penny. The necklace you receive will be similar to those you see represented in the photos here, but each is one of a kind and cannot be duplicated. The pendants are polished, highlighted, and given a coat of protective lacquer to finish. Dates will vary.
Please select the length of your leather cord above. For reference, 18” is the standard size.
